That big empty space at the top was bugging me, so I shrank the size of that area and moved the quotes over. I think it's more focussed now.

Also, I changed the front page so that the blog entries and group entries are separated instead of it all being interspersed. The 5 most recent blog entries followed by the 5 most recent group entries. I might condense things further by having just the links to each entry instead the preview text - it might be easier to scan the titles.

Sorry I've been quiet, but I've had a lot of work lately, which will continue for another 1-2 weeks. I think the site is ready to roll but needs a proper FAQ section so new members can read up on things that may not be immediately clear to them. I'll try to squeeze in the FAQ items in the next couple of weeks so the site can open, and hopefully by then I'll have the time to blog too.

I had enough time to make some quick visual changes to help the eyes wade through all the text. Blog entries will now appear with a green background and group entries will appear with a blue background.

The titles for both types also have a little icon - pencil & speech bubble for blogs and 3 people with speech bubbles for groups. (Internet Exploder 6 is not cooperating with these images - if you're using IE6, you'll see a square dark background to the icons. Other browsers should see no background.)  read more »
