S (will be 4y in May) wants to be a midwife. He LOVES every appointment that we have with our midwives...and he's very into every part of the appointment. He'll listen for New Baby's heartbeat, and he knows it immediately. He'll say, "No, that's Mama's heart" or "There it is! That's New Baby's heart." He says that it sounds like a "boy heart" (he says New Baby is a boy). He insists that there are two babies in there, but seems to be accepting that we've only heard ONE baby heart. At our last appointment (a month ago), our midwife couldn't find the heartbeat...she could hear baby moving around, but not the heart. She had tried every spot on my belly at least once. S pointed to a spot next to my belly button and said, "try there." She did, and there it was! He loves to read the stories that we have, and see any pictures of birth that I can find. He is extremely interested in the placenta. He wants to be right there when New Baby is born, and wants to catch the baby!
So, the other day, I asked him, "Do you want to be a midwife?" He said, "Can boys be midwives??" I said that if he wanted to be one, he could be. He said, "I want to."

amazing
Talk about a dream! That would be such a wonderful calling. Here's to hoping that he is further encouraged and inspired when your little one is born.
